Update on MFM Consulation; and on Cravings!

Jim and I went to the MFM Consultation to meet with Dr. Williams yesterday. I was referred to the MFM Specialist because my last blood test showed that I had "antibodies" in my blood. This is a new discovery, as over the summer when I had blood work done, they didn't find any antibodies at that time.

So, no news really. Dr. Williams didn't know what the "warm antibodies" were caused by, though she is sure they aren't there from the Rhogam shot I received in August. She said there is a very small amount in the blood and after breaking down/diluting the sample 16 times, the antibodies were barely present.

The plan is to monitor my blood every trimester and adjust the treatment as necessary. But right now, Dr. Williams does not believe this is one of the serious antibodies which effects the babies/mom, and instead it most likely won't cause a problem for babies/mom during pregnancy at all. So they will be monitoring it every couple months to make sure the amount of antibodies in my system hasn't increased.

That is what I am CRAVING ALL THE TIME! Anytime I see, hear, or smell pizza, I droll (well, not really) and NEED TO HAVE SOME. So far, I have done really well and haven't been giving in to this crazy craving, but it is getting more difficult each day. The hardest part is that there is a Little Caesar's right on my way home from work, but thankfully I HAVE RESISTED! As I am typing this, I am trying to figure out a way I can get some pizza today... I would even eat some now, at nine in the morning!

Hmmm... other than that, I am up two pounds. Thankfully I have resisted the pizza craving, otherwise that number would be up by 5 or so! And, drum roll please, I am thinking (and Jim is agreeing) that I may be starting to get a little bit of a baby bump... but I am normally chubby, so most people still wouldn't even notice!

  1. Thanks for the update. Good job of resisting pizza - go for chicken, potatoes, salad! And have pizza maybe once a month! Maybe on the 8th of each month - your due date number; although tentative and sure to change.

    Your sister in law - on the weight watchers and losing and looking good is also heavy into craving PIZZA.

    Dad and I are not eating pizza during lent. So you have company!

    Yeah, I'm registered now, so I'll have to give you the customary hard time a brother should! Nevertheless, this is very exciting! I have been craving pizza since I was 14 years old. I miss the Dominos guy randomly stopping by the dorms with cheap pizzas when I was in college!
