The Babies are on the Move!

We had our second appointment today and it was awesome. We got to hear both babies heartbeats, though I must admit, I didn't really know what I was listening for. After Dr. D explained what it sounded like I was able to tell. Jim knew right away what it sounded like, of course!

Then we got to see our "Small Fries" again on ultrasound. It is amazing how much they have grown and changed in just three weeks. They were moving all around, crossing their legs and turning their heads. One baby is camera shy for sure and as soon as Dr. D focused on him/her, he/she turned her head away so we couldn't see the profile. But were were able to see their hearts beating away and got a quick peek at their profiles. It was amazing!

Both babies are doing well - continuing to measure ahead of schedule at 11 weeks and 1 day and 11 weeks and 2 days (FYI: I am officially 10 weeks and 5 days today).

The only issue is that they found "antibodies" in my blood. What does this mean you ask?! Well, I am not really sure. Dr. D didn't seem too concerned about it, but has decided to refer us to a MFM specialist (maternal fetal medicine) for a consultation. We are going to meet with the MFM Doctor on Friday.

Other than that - things are great! Dr. D reminded us that full term for twins is 38 weeks. She also said that it is likely that I may be put on bed rest at some point near the end of the pregnancy if any complications arise, such as preeclampsia or pre-term labor issues.

Our next appointment is set for March 15. And then the "big ultrasound" has been scheduled for April 14!! The "big ultrasound" is the one where they take all the measurements of the babies and it's when you can find out the gender... But just so you know, Jim and I are not finding out the gender(s)! I know this must be torture for many of you, but we are very excited to wait and neither one of us is wavering on this decision.... yet!

So that's it! No other news at this time!
Here are the stars of the show - though it is somewhat difficult to see them!
