It's a Nursery!

Jim and I have been working on the nursery for quite some time. We started early because I was worried that I would end up on bed rest and all of the work would be forced on him. Well, needless to say, here I am at near 37 weeks still going strong, so technically we didn't need to rush the nursery at all. So after we put together the cribs and got the changing table (all 150lbs of it) up the stairs and put together, the rest has been added on over the last couple months or so.
I don't have a starting out picture, but just so you know the room used to be a guest/study. We had a queen size bed, a computer and desk and two book shelves in the room. Oh, yeah, and we had a closet filled with a ton of JUNK! So here is what it looked like when we started to paint...

Jim working hard at turning our beautiful white walls into a lovely green color...Painting, painting and more painting.

Woohoo!! Painting is done! We're pretty happy with the green color - it's nice and relaxing...not to bright or bland.
Next, we set up the cribs and changing table and put up some new window valances! (I wonder if Jim was cranky that I kept taking pictures?!)

At one of our baby showers, the guests brought a book in place of a card, which was perfect because now we have a ton of books to read to the babies once they arrive. Check out all the awesome books we have now!

And check out this cool Pooh quote - it fits perfectly in the nursery. But, wow(!), it was a pain in the butt to attach to the wall...

And now....drumroll please... on to the big reveal. Our Winnie the Pooh nursery, designed with our two beautiful babies in mind (keeping in mind, we don't know their genders so everything is pretty gender neutral).
*I can't wait to add a picture to this frame!*

*The glider is super comfy! I can foresee many nights of falling asleep in it while feeding babies!*

*The Pooh quote*

*Once the babies are born, we will be adding their names above their cribs...so ignore how blank and boring the walls look above the cribs!*

*Organized for now... we will see how long it lasts.*

Awww... I love to sit in there and picture what is going to be like when we bring out two little ones home. I cannot wait!

  2. Jim and Kristine - a lovely job on the nursery - it is just darling! We cannot wait until the babies are here too. Oh gosh you are on a 10 day count down! Today is the 15th and August 25th is the last date likely. And probably the 23rd uh oh! Babies coming really soon. Nice job Mom and Dad. Babies will love there new home! P.S. Jim nice job tolerating the picture taking - I am sure you are used to it - we love pictures. Many more to come.

  4. Hey, that's awesome! It looks really really good - very professionally done! Since it's starting out so clean and awesome I bet you'll have a pretty easy time keeping it organized, too. Love that wall color!
Very excited to "meet" the babies!
